Join us for this incredible 5 day, 4 night photography retreat across three Hawaiian Islands!
Flights between islands is INCLUDED in the ticket price.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Six beautifully curated styled shoots on three islands (Kauai, Maui, Oahu) plus two bonus photo shoots (nighttime and underwater). These shoots will include three couples sessions (engagement session, elegant couples session, and a relaxed/cinematic/playfully intimate couples session), two elopements (volcano and mountain top), one bonus nighttime session with lanterns, sailboat wedding portraits, and a bonus underwater session! If you decide not to do the underwater session you are free to snorkel and enjoy the fish and sea turtles!

Copy of all film portraits taken by me @newwavehawaii during the retreat for each attendee. I will be carrying a film camera everywhere we go and getting BTS shots of and for all photogs!
This will be a fast paced retreat with lots of exploring, free time, and (luckily) minimal travel time between islands. We will be able to see and do SO much during our five day stay across the islands

To attend this retreat photographers must pick at least TWO islands.

SCHEDULE:
Day 1 - August 26th: Fly into Kauai and settle in to airbnb. Meet and greet dinner party to get to know other attendees
Day 2 - August 27th: Free morning to explore the island. There is an optional group exploration to a secret turtle cove but attendees are welcome to do their own thing!
Session 1 - Afternoon styled engagement session at a beautiful and unique location in Waimea Canyon
Session 2 - Sunset styled elopement at epic Na Pali Coast overlook in Waimea Canyon
Session 3 - Bonus session: Nighttime Wedding Portraits with lanterns in Waimea Canyon with a champagne pop, a great opportunity to practice OCF!
These three sessions will consist of the same couple to boost our portfolios and encourage couples to book us for multiple stages in their lives! (engagement AND elopement) and provide well-rounded galleries for elopement photographers. There will be opportunities to get detail shots and “getting ready shots” before beginning the elopement styled shoot portion. We will pop a bottle of champaign for the nighttime styled shoot for a celebratory feel
Day 3 - August 28th: Fly to Maui, settle in at the airbnb and rest before evening session.
Session 4 - Sunset elegant couple’s session at unique jungle location
Day 4 - August 29th: Sunrise Session
Session 5 - Sunrise at Haleakala. We will drive up early morning before sunrise to capture images at dawn with vintage car. We will do an elopement at sunrise, exchanging of vows, and bride and groom portraits
After, we will eat breakfast, check out of the airbnb and head to the airport
Day 4 - August 29th: Fly to Oahu in the afternoon. Settle into the airbnb and enjoy a free day after an early morning. I will give recommendations on favorite places to explore, relax, and eat!
Day 5 - August 30th: Sailboat tour
Session 6 - Sunrise/early morning sailboat wedding portraits on sailboat tour.
Session 7 - Bonus underwater trash-the-dress with same couple. Those who do not have underwater gear or do not want to participate you can snorkel and enjoy the sea life while we do this bonus session! For those who want to participate but do not have an underwater housing, please consider a gopro, underwater point-and-shoot, an underwater disposable film camera, or even a phone with a case!
Session 8 - Sunset mountain top couple’s session. This session will be relaxed, cinematic, and playfully intimate. This session will require 20-30 minutes of moderate hiking! There will be areas you have to climb over fallen trees and up short rock faces. Hiking shoes and water is required
We will end our time together with an optional goodbye dinner
IMPORTANT INFO:
Every airbnb will either have a pool, hot tub, or be close proximity to a beach. Sleeping accommodations are either a shared king bed or a single twin bed, those who purchase tickets first get first choice of sleeping arrangements. Attendees can choose which option they prefer based on what is available. Friends that attend together are encouraged to also share beds
A $500 Retainer fee (goes toward total cost of retreat) is due at booking in order to snag a spot! We will have 3 scheduled payments for the remaining balance.
Retainer fee is non-refundable but can be transferred to another photographer. All scheduled payments (after the retainer has been paid) are refundable until June 1st. After June 1st, all payments are non-refundable and tickets must be transferred to another photographer. Transferring of tickets must be done by the attendee.
Plane tickets are non transferable. If styled shoot tickets are transferred to another photographer after June 1st, the new photographer must purchase their own tickets.
Food and drinks outside of the airbnb are not included. The optional goodbye brunch on Oahu is not included in ticket price and must be covered by attendee)
Plane tickets to initial island is not included. Rental cars on each island are not included. I will start a group event for those attending to help coordinate flights and sharing of rental cars
