Serene Kauai Seaside Elopement

L + J's stunning and private Kaua'i elopement.

Laramie and Jake got ready for their elopement in the quiet solace of their hotel suite, together, just the two of them. Even after being together for years, the excitement and nerves were palpable and their smiles were endless. Laramie helped Jake into his jacket and watched on as he slipped on his loafers and buttoned his suit jacket. When it was her turn, Jake waited patiently on the lawn of the 1 Hotel as she dressed in her stunning wedding gown in private.

The 1 Hotel resort is considered an ultra-luxury, sustainable wellness sanctuary and has the views to back the claim. Sitting on the hill just above Hanalei Bay, the scenery alone encapsulates the majestic beauty of Kaua’i.

Once dressed, Laramie stepped out on to the lawn and towards her future. She tapped Jake on the shoulder and he turned around to see his gorgeous bride in all white standing before him.

After getting ready, Laramie, Jake, and myself made our way to Hanalei Bay near the pier but in our own private corner. Surrounded by the ocean, woods, and palm trees, Laramie and Jake shared private vows and sweet sea-salt kisses in an intimate exchange of vows, that only them and the waves were privy to. Private vow exchanges are a unique way to share a private moment between you and the love of your life.

As a photographer I like to keep my distance during private vow exchanges, capture the words and love shared from afar, and truly allow the two of you to have a special moment alone before the ceremony begins!

Last but definitely not least, the three of us headed to the opposite end of Hanalei Bay to a secluded beach area where Laramie and Jake were wed by officiant Frieda Gayle. Both barefoot, Laramie walked down a sandy path to her soon-to-be husband. The two exchanged leis and giggles as they reminisced about all the years and beautiful times they have spent together that had brought the two of them to that exact moment, standing before one another, saying “I do”.

They kissed as the sun set with big smiles and happy tears as they said aloha to forever, together.
