Butterfly Garden

I am always looking for an excuse to practice photoshop and finding new creative ways to do so. (Spoiler... I am extremely technology illiterate. The sheer fact I figured out how to write this blog says a lot.) But thats the fun in it all; practicing and getting better, perfecting the art.

So first things first: Take a picture

Here is my SOOC (straight out of camera) image of my sister in my backyard. First, I opened it up in Photoshop

Next, I added an action to make my background darker and create more bokeh (blurriness). I prefer my images to be richer in color and a lot of times I feel a darker background helps to achieve that look. This is my style but may not be yours. Always be true to yourself and do what you feel!

Now for the fun part, add BUTTERFLIES!

This part took the most time. I used butterfly overlays, resized each one individually, and then used the clone tool to clone it onto my image.

I added Sunshine the same way, by cloning it onto my image

Last but not least I opened the image into Lightroom

From there I adjusted my settings to my liking to get my Final Image!

Id love to hear what you think in the comments below.

Love,
Jasmine
